WROCŁAW
Wrocław is scenic beauty capital of voivodeship dolnośląskie. The city is located on the Silesian Lowland, on the Odra river and its four tributaries, which feed in town borders of: Bystrzyca, Oława, Ślęza and Widawa.
Wrocław is historical capital of Silesia, and forth town in terms of population in Poland (634 630 residents) and fifth in terms of surface. Wrocław is also one of the oldest towns in Poland.
Wrocław in spite of war destructions (70% of buildings) saved a lot of buildings or in original conditions, or restored or renovated after war. To standing out are: Gothic town hall on the Square, Gothic churches: St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Ostrów Tumski (next to the baroque Electorate chapel according to project of Fisher von Erlach), St. Cross, Blessed Virgin Mary on Sand, baroque unit of main buildings of Wrocław
University with Leopoldin Hall and neo-Gothic building of Main Station and modernist Folk Hall.
